Korak winery
The star winery of the Plešivica region, according to Croatian winemakers
Some 40-minute drive from Zagreb city center to the southwest, you enter Plešivica, a wine region locals like to call "Croatian Champagne". Korak winery is the most known in the region and in their cellars, you will find Riesling, Blauer Portugieser, Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Syrah. Korak wines won multiple awards at home and abroad.
The winery is run by the head of the family, Velimir, and his son Josip, while the other son Bernard works as a chef and runs the family restaurant, after having trained with Ana Roš and Massimo Bottura. Bernard's restaurant is probably the only organic slow food restaurant in this part of Croatia, which landed him a Gault&Millau Young Chefs 2021 award.
At their estate, guests can enjoy 8- or 5-course tasting menus while choosing 3 options for wine pairing: best vintages and archive wines from their cellar, local wines from the Plešivica region, or vintages you can buy at the time of tasting.
