Plum Strudel

Plum strudel brings the best of the season to the table – fragrant, ripe plums wrapped in delicate, homemade pastry. Every bite carries the taste that reminds us of family gatherings. Simple yet rich, it’s the perfect treat when you crave something sweet and homemade.

Serves 4


Ingredients for the pastry:
1 kg soft flour
600 ml water
1 egg
Pinch of salt

Ingredients for the plum filling:
1,2 kg plums
500g sugar
Pinch of cinnamon
10g vanilla sugar
Breadcrumbs


Directions: Sift the flour, add the egg, salt and lukewarm water and make a smooth dough. Knead it well, several times, rubbing it with oil to prevent a crust from forming and let it rest for half an hour. Put the dough on a floured tablecloth, roll it out, cover it with oil once again, and let it rest. Finally, roll it out again, trim the edges, drizzle it with oil and let it dry a little. Spread the filling over the dough and roll to make a strudel. Bake the strudel in an oiled baking tray at 180 C for 40 minutes. When ready, sprinkle the strudel with icing sugar.
