Urania bar

Urania bar is situated in the former movie theatre of the same name, in a modern building connected to the office of the architectural firm 3LHD, in the heart of Zagreb's Kvaternik Square. The interior of this bar boasts a superb design emanating a warm, cozy vibe. The space is dominated by a large community table where guests often work on laptops throughout the day, two open bars and specific lighting that creates a unique, slightly Scandi atmosphere.

Urania bar recently changed its management team. During the day, its concept combines specialty coffee and brunch, while in the evening Urania turns into a formidable cocktail bar.

From morning to 3 p.m. the focus is on coffee, matcha lattes, home-made kombucha and high-quality teas combined with seasonal dishes such as mushroom and cheese strudel, granola, toast, breakfast or veggie sandwich.

From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., they don't serve food, and at 6 p.m., Urania transforms itself into a modern cocktail & tapas bar. The team that runs Urania finds its inspiration for the offer and concept from cinematography, which forms history of this iconic location, and architecture, design and art that mark its present. They see themselves as the future and try to present it in a fun way. That is why the signature cocktail menu is divided into 2 sections — film and architecture. Cocktails with film names represent a signature twist on classics, while the others are completely original, inspired by architecture. Finger food they offer with cocktails comprises seasonal mini bar dishes perfect for sharing.

Here you can meet students, local neighbourhood people, architects, artists, and cocktail-loving bon vivants – it's a real little urban melting pot. Very often, the place is packed and you have to wait for a seat. Be sure to make a reservation at weekends.
