Charlie
Charlie is an iconic place of “Zagrebačka špica”, the traditional Saturday morning pastime in the city. This super popular gathering place of Zagreb's athletes, politicians and bon vivants reopened its doors this winter. Charlie, named after its first owner and former footballer of the club Dinamo Zagreb, was a place where current topics from the city's life were discussed. Today, its new owners hope that Charlie will once again play an important role in the ever so popular Zagreb's špica.

This charming café has been redesigned to make it more modern, but still, it has managed to keep the spirit of some past times. Right from the entrance, you will notice the dominant bar which adds to the warm, retro atmosphere. The seating area is small, in a combination of black and white with metal and velvet details. Right next to it is the room with wine racks and high seating. Charlie's terrace, which has always been the main asset of this place, has also been modernized.

Today, at Charlie, you can enjoy fine specialty coffee in all forms, but also have breakfast with cold-pressed juices. They offer a variety of snacks — toasts, savoury and sweet croissants, tramezzini, focaccias, even granola and ice cream. Charlie is designed as an aperitivo bar, with an interesting selection of drinks. Their wine list is excellent and quite large for this type of place, and it offers a cross-section of the Croatian wine scene and international classics from champagnes to famous world wine regions. There also offer a few cocktails and premium spirits.
There is no doubt that Charlie is the iconic Zagreb café, so we hope that new generations will also recognize and appreciate its importance.
