Bread Club 8
When somebody mentions Bread Club — a chain of artisan sourdough bakeries that has become a recognizable Zagreb brand, the things that first pop into our minds are naturally yeasted breads, crispy sweet products like croissants, cookies, cruffins filled with homemade creams and jams, creative sandwiches, fine coffees, teas, matcha lattes, but also seasonal delicacies like buhtle with plum jam. Bread Club is also a favourite brunch spot, and they have branches in various Zagreb neighbourhoods. They recently opened two new shops.
Bread Club 8 is the newly opened eighth shop of the Bread Club project. Just like the seventh one at 203 Ilica Street, at first glance, the one on Frankopanska Street is also completely different. It is a three-zone multifunctional space that combines bread production and food preparation with modern design, thus providing a contemporary experience which is much more than just buying bread. From the window on the corner of Fankopanska and Ilica Streets, you can see a bustling working area and a bakery almost always crammed full of customers. Here you can buy bread, but also order coffee or breakfast, which you can then enjoy in the next, slightly quieter zone — the chic low seating area. Neutral beige tones combined with dark accents, wood and striking pieces such as cinema chairs make this space cozy and modern, creating an international, contemporary vibe. The centrepiece of the next zone is a tall community table. In this unusual room with designer accents, you can even work in peace.
In addition to the Bread Club classics, they also offer cool dishes such as fresh cheese and sour cream, bread and butter, kimchi toast, hummus toast with roasted peppers…
Upon its opening, it didn’t take long for Bread Club 8 to become one of Zagreb's favourite spots, which comes as no surprise considering the original concept of this bread shop.
