Pizzeria 14

A new address raising the bar for Neapolitan pizza in Zagreb

Pizzeria Četrnajstica, recently opened in Zagreb’s Knežija neighborhood, has quickly become one of the most sought-after spots for gourmet pizza. The project, led by Ljupka Gojić Mikić, known for her pastry shop Jolie Petite, has attracted attention from the start thanks to its uncompromising commitment to quality and creativity. In a city that loves newly opened places, their pizzas are already being talked about as the new standard for Neapolitan style in Zagreb.

The modern interior, airy and elegant, with terrazzo tables, yellow chairs and a large  communal table feels more like an urban lounge than a classic pizzeria. Large windows let in plenty of light, while details like floral arrangements and warm candles create an atmosphere that is both relaxed and refined. In summer, the terrace will surely be an ideal spot for a break, while in winter the interior radiates warmth and vibrant energy.

What’s on the menu?

The offering centers on Neapolitan pizzas made with carefully selected ingredients: from San Marzano tomatoes and Fior di Latte mozzarella to burrata, stracciatella, bresaola and Kalamata olives. A fun detail is that all pizzas are named “fourteen” – just in different languages. The menu also includes a selection of Neapolitan pizza sandwiches, and the biggest highlight is the tasting mini pizzas – three pieces of your choice. An ideal opportunity to try different flavor combinations. They also offer gourmet salads – from roasted pumpkin with sage and pumpkin-seed dressing to chicory with hazelnuts and peppers, zucchini with almonds…

Given the quality and creativity of the food menu, the drinks list could become even more playful over time. At the moment, it includes several beers, about ten classic cocktails and a short wine list focused on Italian and French labels. Although the selection is thoughtful and high-quality, it would be interesting to see a few Croatian wine stories on the list one day – especially because local varieties would pair beautifully with their gourmet pizza and salad style.

What did our chefs try?

We visited Četrnajstica during lunchtime and by noon the restaurant was already full, which is a clear sign of its popularity. Our table turned into a true palette of colors and flavors. Alongside a Negroni Sbagliato – an Italian cocktail classic that, in our humble opinion, pairs brilliantly with pizza – we tried a pizza classic: a rich combination of San Marzano tomatoes, Fior di Latte mozzarella, ham, yellow mushrooms, grilled artichokes and Kalamata olives. A classic yet layered pizza that brings familiar flavors together in perfect balance.

Our second choice was a completely different experience: spicy sausage, pepper drops, red pepper cream, ’nduja and caramelized onion. This pizza was bold, aromatic and generous, with spicy notes that complemented the creamy cheeses beautifully.
We definitely recommend making a reservation before visiting – in addition to calling, you can book a table in just a few simple steps through their website.

Pizzeria 14 is not just a new pizzeria in Zagreb, but a new it spot that blends Neapolitan tradition with a modern gourmet approach. The prices are slightly above average, but justified by the quality and presentation. Creative combinations, a modern space, a terrace, and fast, relaxed service will make this place an essential destination for anyone who wants to experience pizza as a gastronomic experience rather than just a meal.
