Yakuza Bar
If you’re one of those always on the lookout for a new hidden gem of the nightlife scene, Yakuza Bar could be just the place for you. Located in the basement of the Kiyomi restaurant on Gajeva Street, one of the city centre’s most important streets, in the place that once housed the Hard Rock Cafe, this hidden, dark bar offers a unique experience inspired by the notorious Japanese Yakuza clan, Asian aesthetics and art, and precise and elegant Japanese mixology. The out-of-view location in a speakeasy vibe adds a touch of exclusivity to the whole experience. The entrance to the bar leads through the Kiyomi restaurant, where friendly and well-organized staff wearing earphones direct you towards the staircase leading to a hidden space behind a black door at the bottom of the stairs. The interior of Yakuza Bar radiates a cozy, intimate feel: dark wood and leather details create a sense of warmth, while colourful Japanese-style paper chandeliers add an exotic touch. The walls are adorned with illustrations of geishas and yakuza in a comic/tattoo style, which gives this place an authentic and mystical atmosphere.

We left our choice of cocktails to the bartender, who, after two or three questions about our preferences, wowed us with delicious and visually impressive drinks.
A variation of Negroni with an Umeshu twist, a Bushido Whiskey with sage and black tea syrup, or the stunning Silk Road, a salty gastronomic majesty among cocktails, with tequila, cognac, cocoa and tonka, are just some of the many delights you won't forget. In addition to cocktails, a small but concise selection of spirits, wines and non-alcoholic drinks is also available, including non-alcoholic cocktails.
With a capacity of around 30 seats and an additional 6 at the bar, Yakuza offers an intimate environment to enjoy premium drinks.

Reservations at the Yakuza Bar are only available to guests having dinner at the Kiyomi Restaurant; the rest of the visitors simply have to try their luck at the door.
