Impressive, old-school wine cellar with arched brick ceilings in one of the oldest parts of Zagreb, Kaptol. Bornstein’s interior is dominated by old furniture and crystal chandeliers, while its walls are completely covered with bottle shelves showing a huge selection of Croatian and international wines.

Owned by Ivan and Doris Srpek, renowned importers and distributors of fine wines, meaning you can come across some rare wine jewels and vintages you can enjoy there and then for the price of the bottle and corkage.

By the glass, you can get mostly Croatian wines at great prices. If you get nibbly, at most times, they offer a selection of pâtés and cheeses, but you should call ahead since snacks are not always available.
